The Walrus and Carpenter restaurant in Barton Street has closed for business after trading since 1974. The reason for the closure in not known, however a note on the door indicated that the premises had been repossessed by the landlord.
The Flavours of the West Food Festival takes place at Milsom Place on Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of July. There will be regional food, cooking demonstrations, tastings, book signings and many other events. Admission is free.
The first day of the 2011 Bath Coffee Festival on the Rec has been very popular.

Côte Brassiere is due to open at Milson Place, Bath, on the 8th of June. The Parisian themed restaurant will use premises vacated by the Moon and Sixpence.

The 24 restaurant Côte Brasserie chain is backed by entrepreneur Richard Caring, who owns The Ivy, J Sheekeys and Le Caprice in London, also the Soho House group and Wentworth Golf Course.
The second Bath Coffee Festival is taking place this year on the Bath Recreation Ground in May.
The dates are:
Saturday, May 21st, 10 am to 5 pm
Sunday, May 22nd, 11 am to 4:30 pm.
If it is anything like last year’s festival it will be a great day out with demonstrations, over 60 exhibitors, workshops, fine food and of course the finest coffees from around the world.
Admission is free.

Features include a food market, a garden, pop-up restaurant, picnic area and entertainment for children.
The latest branch of the Giraffe restaurant chain is due to open at 08:00 am on April the 6th. The menu is global, with the accent on healthy eating.
Dishes will include such delights as hummus, baba ganoush and mixed olives sharing platter; jambalaya risotto; chicken pho with vermicelli noodles; sushi rice salad with smoked salmon as well as a range of steaks and burgers.
The restaurant is located close to the station at 8 Dorchester Street.
It seems that the popular Milsom Place Restaurant the Moon and Sixpence has closed. This was announced by a sign at the restaurant stating: “The Moon and Sixpence is closed. Many apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
The Moon had been something of a Bath institution for over 30 years, and soon regained its loyal following amongst locals and visitors in 2008 after closing for refurbishment in 2007.
It is believed that the French restaurant chain Cote will be taking over the site
