Strada - Bath

Strada, the Italian Restaurant in Sawclose, is to close on the first of September. A number of jobs will be lost as part of the restructuring of the restaurant chain.

The restaurant has been sold to an independent operator.

A Caribbean-themed restaurant, Turtle Bay, will be opening soon in part of the old Duck, Son and Pinker building in Bridge Street.

Turtle Bay, which is currently looking for staff, will offer authentic Caribbean food and drink.

Vaults - Bath

The Vaults nearing completion

The latest branch of the Gourmet Burger Kitchen will open on December 3rd at the Vaults, next to Bath Spa Railway Station.

Also opening at the Vaults soon are the Graze Bar, Prezzo, Nandos, Jika-Jika and the Bertinet Bakery.

Carluccio's - Bath

The Italian restaurant chain Carluccio’s is opening it’s newest all day restaurant, food shop and deli in the centre of Bath.

The 95 seat restaurant and delicatessen has taken over what were empty shops at Milsom Place, and is scheduled to open on the 8th of September.

Flavours of the West at Milsom Place in Bath promises a weekend of foodie treats with chef demonstrations, tastings and tutorials and a celebration of some of the best artisan food in the West Country. The two day food and drink festival on Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July is a great foodie event for Bath residents and visitors alike.

Top Bath chefs will stage a programme of free cookery demonstrations in The Octagon, formally a Georgian chapel. Michelin-starred Executive Chef from five star Lucknam Park Hotel Hywel Jones, who competed in the BBC’s Great British Menu last year will offer expert tips as he guides you through delicious recipes.
Head chef Henry Mugridge from Yo!Sushi at Milsom Place will unravel the mystique of making sushi.
Other chefs appearing on stage include Rechel Demuth, Charlie Digney, Duncan Glendinning, Lauren Deaker, Garry Rosser, Gordon Jones and Nick Brodie.

Other highlights include the Producers Market with the new Cake and Bake Zone starring Bath’s own WI and a children’s foodie fun area and a talk on edible gardens by gardening super star John Wheatley.
